In urban heating, more and more companies choose to use air source heat pumps for heating. As an independent heating system, it not only provides stable heating and energy saving, but also perfectly fills the blank area of municipal centralized heating. At the same time, air source heat pumps can also meet the needs of summer cooling, with more diverse functions. Liye Building, located in Fengtai District, Beijing, is also one of the companies that chooses air-source heat pumps as its cooling and heating equipment.
1. Project Overview
The Beijing Liye Building office building is located in Fengtai District, Beijing. It has a height of 16 floors and a heating area of 9,000 square meters. The heating end is a fan coil unit.
The office building is an old-fashioned building with no insulation on the load-bearing walls. At the same time, the temperature in Beijing can reach over 40 degrees in summer and the lowest temperature in winter can reach below -10 degrees. The requirements for equipment’s cooling and heating performance are very high; and the building includes restaurants, KTV, bathing, and offices. Buildings and other places, different places also have different needs for equipment intelligence.
2. Background of transformation
The project was built in 2001 and originally used central air conditioning for cooling/heating. As the original equipment ages, the heating speed is slow and the noise is loud, which affects the work of the owners in the building. The cooling temperature in summer is not up to standard, and the heating head is dry and cold in winter, and the overall effect is not good.
In 2023, Liye Building will undergo comprehensive repairs and renovations, including replacement of heating equipment. The property management company considered many aspects and finally chose BANDON for air source heat pump cooling and heating renovation.
3. Equipment Selection
In order to meet users' constant temperature cooling and heating needs, based on the building load demand, the following units are selected for this project:

4. Equipment Installation
The unit is installed on the roof platform of the building. Considering the densely packed buildings and the large flow of people, anti-vibration and anti-noise measures are taken during installation to ensure that the unit operates stably without affecting the normal work of the staff, creating a higher quality office environment.
It is worth mentioning that the BANDON ultra-quiet air source heat pump unit is used this time, with the lowest operating noise as low as 58dB. After the unit is installed and debugged, the end fan coil unit will be seamlessly connected to save costs.
5. Operation Status
The project was installed and commissioned in July this year. Before the transformation, the heating and cooling temperatures could not be guaranteed; after the BANDON air source heat pump heating transformation, the temperature met the requirements.
Cooling in summer and heating in winter, they work well. Currently, the cooling temperature can reach about 23 degrees during one summer operation. When the heating season comes, it is expected that the heating temperature in winter can be controlled between 20-22 degrees.
